It's a Grand Old Party & You're Invited! How about those Broncos! A famous grin, roar of approval, a kiss for Mom, and
Idaho's favorite Cowboy became the Gem State's 32nd Governor. First Lady Lori Otter handled the introduction under stunning
blue skies, with an audience that stretched to the green, enjoying every second.
The Inaugural Mass began at 10:00 a.m. at St. Johns Cathedral on Friday, January 5, 2007. At noon our elected officials
were presented and administered the Oath of Office. This was followed by receptions inside the Capitol at each office and
a very long line of well-wishers in the Governor's newly decorated office. Friday night was all about the music of Josh Turner.
Doubletree Hotel was the site of the State GOP Winter Meeting and it was certainly well attended with Norm Semanko, the
Rocket, Tom Luna, Donna Jones, Lawrence Wasden, and Governor Otter joined in too. The votes were cast and scenic Sandpoint,
Idaho will host the 2008 State GOP Convention! I want to thank everyone from Lewiston who obviously worked hard to present
their city to the gathering. I also want to thank everyone who complimented my presentation and cast their vote for Sandpoint.
Here in the northern counties we will work hard to make the Presidential Year Convention one of the very best!
Saturday continued with dinners at Hillcrest Country Club and the Grove Grand Ballroom. It was terrific having Secretary
of Interior and former Governor, Dirk Kempthorne present at yet another event. It was on to the Governor's Ball at the Rotunda
by 8:00 pm and afterwards it was the fabulous Black Tie & Boots Ball at BSU. Kudos to everyone for pulling off one well-organized
and decorated event after another. You are all truly amazing.
Big thank you to all of the people who served from various military units, security outfits, law enforcement, band members,
singers, strings, program folks, decorators, and a special thank you to all of the women who survived one long weekend in
heels! I believe just about everyone leaving the ball had their glass slippers in their hands.
The celebration is over the real work of the people has begun in Boise. We are all challenged to be supportive, informed,
and to collaborate on solutions. It's time once again to deliver legislation and policy that benefits all of Idaho's Citizens.
We have an outstanding group of leaders who are counting on each one of us to remain fully engaged. I consider that our number

It was a noteworthy thought standing in the Governor's office, watching Idaho's citizens pass through the receiving line,
that every elected official was a Republican. A reminder that we must work hard now to show that our elected officials are
worthy of every vote.
As we move forward together, we must be mindful that the work for 2008 has already begun in most of our 44 counties. Please
remember to work on your relationships, cross county lines, get to know each other, and stay active in your support of our
elected officials.
God Bless Idaho,
Bashful Dan
